Stena Corporation took delivery week 40/2010 of their second super ferry M/s Stena Bitannica (Nb 164) foregoing the M/s Stena Hollandica delivered in May 2010. World largest car and passenger ferries representing a unique design and standard by Stena. SAJ Instrument have been chosen as supplier for the dynamic monitoring system SAJ-DMS on these two ships. Stena have been customer to SAJ for over two decades and it is a pleasure that our established association is good and Stena continues to actively choose the SAJ-DMS instead of passively allowing conventional systems to be installed. The installation of the SAJ-DMS benefit the cargo handling, fuel efficiency and safety. It is a good additional insurance to their £375 million investment. The installation cost for the SAJ-DMS system will pay back itself in less than a year in bunker savings alone. After working on these projects since 2006 we are happy to see these magnificent ships now in service. The ships’ can carry up to 300 trucks, 230 cars and 1,200 passengers on the Hoek van Holland to Harwich route. Stena Britannica and Stena Hollandica offer 30% more capacity and exciting new facilities for passengers and cars, giving travelers even more space to unwind. Facilities include buffet and a la carte restaurants; two bars; children's playroom, teenager area; cinema; and Stena Plus Lounge, a media room filled with magazines and newspapers; a news room where you can keep up with the latest local and world news, an internet corner and free wifi.
